Paris was also a huge component in this story and I loved the various trips around the town. Women across the city whisper of a mysterious figure named Nella who sells well-disguised poisons to use against the oppressive men in their lives. An Accidental Wonder! It's a psychic ability and while this might sound weird, it's definitely a huge component of our culture. 5 stars, but had to round it up because this novel left me feeling delighted. Eventually, Vanessa was given the chance to come with her Aunt Evelyn in Paris, as her aunt also has the ability of clairvoyance and she can teach her how to control her powers better. I do still have hope that her next book will work better for me, although it's possible that it is an unfortunate mismatch.
