It is nice to know that this course is identical to its Ivy League counterparts. Very upset Dr. Vasey is away on study leave for my last semesters at the University. It has been my favourite class thus far in my 4 years at U of L and the only class I draw from on a regular basis. It was a pleasure to be in your statistics class this semester. I found it very helpful having everything we went over in class on the Web as well. Working in the field and applying knowledge from the classroom engraves what you learned into your brain. He made the environment comfortable and easy to be in. I was throughly intrigued. Give this man a raise! I did not even buy the book, but study lecture notes and course notes on the web. My first teaching experiences were as a diving instructor. Because it is a third year class, and in a lot of classes it's hard to see where the material will fit into everyday life, so I liked that Paul got us thinking like that. His treatment of the course material makes the course fun, informative, and very enjoyable. Arsham is very knowledgeable and he makes the subject matter and class very interesting.
I also liked how the textbook was supplementary and wasn't the main focus of the course, Paul definitely added a lot more than the textbook could have! It was a privilege to take his class and learn about these important topics that are so taboo to so many people who want to "keep a lid" on any learning about them. Do the homework in a timely fashion, and, to get the most out of the course, come to class with specific questions. I have enjoyed the material and the class.
