So I installed a new brake light system, using no truck part, now all lights work great, no problem with lights at all. Left taillight circuit board melted!!! If it is still under warranty contact the OEM about repairs.
But it flashes really fast. I have taken working bulbs from the passenger side and then placed them in the drivers side, they no longer worked. I checked to see if I had power at the plug into the lamp, no power for the running lights. I switched the circuit boards (left to right) and tried the signal and it worked on the left, but not on the right, proving the problem was unique to the LH board.

I replaced bulbs, circuit board thing, fuses. Most ASE certified mechanics subscribe to the philosophy of replacing all tail lamp bulbs at the same time. Then a couple days ago right rear tailight, hazard and brake light quit, not the bulb, the circuit board got hot apparently changed it, and it still didnt work, i just finished tracing wires and right at the back bumper in the center there was a broken wire, the green one, it had split and arked now i redid that wire and all is fine. Place cockeyed where the Valeo board was originally or hot glue into place as pictured below. And then ship the bad board out for professional circuit board repairs. I'm having a similar issue with my '96. I just changed an rear passenger side wiring harness because of no break lights and now all the lights work by themselves but when the running lights are on I have no break lights and my turn signal flicks fast. All other lights work. 'burbs, just clean the contacts - ESPECIALLY IN THE MIDDLE BULB. First guess bulb bad, but not that lucky. Replace bulb only few bucks just give it a try. I'm having same issue.
