The Abbott and Costello-esque relationship between Finlay and Vero is so expertly executed and fun and was the perfect blend of slapstick and solid female friendship; I always looked forward to their scenes together! What will it take to make the light go back on and help her write a bestseller? But Amanda's meandering road to motherhood has strained her marriage and she finds herself keeping secrets, even from her mother and sister. Now if she could just convince her only buyer to stop rejecting vintage homes as if they're haunted. And that isn't her darkest secret. We hear a few times, that when Finlay goes to pick up stuff off the floor, maple syrup and strands of hair get stuck to the knees of her pants. I won't dive into the remaining plot details, because it's better to discover all the twists and turns for yourself, but I will say that I was impressed with how author Elle Cosimano tied up the threads of this seemingly impossible scenario Finlay finds herself in. She was the perfect babysitter and friend anyone should have.
