My entry point was thru Hall's 1977 solo album Sacred Songs, because of its connection to King Crimson's Robert Fripp. Highlights include the gorgeous ballad Throw the Roses Away and the heartstopping The Sky is Falling, a song Rolling Stone describes as an exquisite midtempo piece of stately, sweet soul music that's probably the most perfect song the pair has recorded since Sara Smile. Their records are full of luscious harmonies and catchy melodies, but with an experimental side that's often been overlooked by those who know them principally from 'Rich Girl' or 'I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)'. When I came up with the idea for "Maneater", I thought of it as a reggae song, and of course, Daryl and I changed it as we got into it. I've never had a problem with ageism.
