They really should not go out the fast unless the starter is drawing too much current ( Amperage) Maybe damaging or burning the solenoid contacts. Work for a day then the starter again stayed engaged and did the same thing. My WSM says your starter relay control goes through there (= System Control Unit).. Can you do a test with a separate (temporary) wire running from the starter switch directly to the starter relay?
