As obnoxious as Gideon is, Eva is just as much, and she's struggling to deal with the insecurities her fucked up past have bred into her even as she can't keep herself from lashing out rather than expressing herself. I know, I know... it's burning its way up the Amazon charts as we speak. Much of this has to do with the fact that Eva and Gideon are tormented from past trauma and this is a form of healing for them. It was only a few seconds between meeting eyes and falling head over heels for Gideon that went by, but boy were they were a potent few seconds. Alissa is married, has one human, one feline, and two canine kids. In this case, Gideon's women are portrayed with some degree of nuance (more so towards the end).
