There are some truly creepy scenes in here, and honestly if the whole book had been like that, this could have been a four- or even five-star read for me. It's there I guess I would have sworn that writing used to be the priority of books. Verity, one of Annaleigh's sisters not only see the ghosts of their dead sisters but also sketches them out in increasingly disturbing and horrifying depictions, often visions that the sisters send her. I finished it in three days (pretty quick for me), and thought it was an elegant and haunting story with memorable images and twists.
