I think your right in terms of stacks, but they need to have an exit that is above the passenger compartment for that exemptionDepends where you are but thats not true it cant come out the bottom before the end of the cab but thats due to the fumes rising up hood stacks don't actually follow that guideline same with military land rovers and H1 hummers that have the stacks up the side of the windshield the fumes exit away from the passenger compartment that is all that is required here anyway. After I had a 6" stack on my last ext cab I vowed to never get stacks again because it was too loud. Bed stacks are out of the question for me.
