In any other condition, including a fully-loaded 10-rounder, or a 13-rounder loaded with only 12 rounds – the gun ran flawlessly and after the third or four range session I was comfortable enough to carry it. Having a wide safety makes it easier to deactivate and just makes it easier to use.

From the factory, most Shields have too much friction between the slide lock lever and the corresponding locking notch in the slide. Light and crisp with some takeup, it's an excellent trigger in a small defensive firearm. However, some of the features on this pistol are a bit dated.
Your slide lock is obviously also a release and was designed that way. As with any pistol review, I am only one reviewer, and I was loaned only one pistol. The slide stop on the Shield Plus is, again, a standard Smith & Wesson M&P style slide stop. They don't look like much on the surface, but fired at 25 yards, against the clock, groups in under six inches are pretty damn solid. I also liked the little bit of extra width.
