I did find it a little irritating that the bisexual best friend of the hero sleeps around constantly with people of both sexes and basically comes across as a shallow jerk. I do get the comparison, but truly this is a MUCH better read. Eva tries to hold out, but Gideon uses every one of his considerable resources to win her over.
