These buttons are usually less used than the other ones (the keys next to the wheels) and if the keys are working, then the wheel buttons should be working, too. The diagrams say that each of the switch gorups (there are 2, left side steering wheel, right side steering wheel) You then have 2 more legs that are the individual LEDs for each of the switches. There are little chances that both buttons are defective.
