I'm a little late in discovering Maré Odomo's wonderful comic strip Letters to an Absent Father, but there was no way I could let it slip by without shining the spotlight on the series. I don't know if Odomo is planning to continue the series, but if it does see a second set of strips, Ash needs to mature, if only slightly. I'm just writing down what I remember of the typed up script and trying to add on to it.
The second comic is on the softer side - " Letters to an Absent Father " was created by Maré Odomo. The Illiad and The Odyssey by Homer. The strips feature Ash Ketchum of Pokémon fame wondering about his forever absent father (who has never been officially revealed in any Pokémon works, sad huh). Anyway, the other day I was browsing around his flickr and discovered this series of short strips called "LETTERS TO AN ABSENT FATHER". Meanwhile by Jason Shiga. Ambiguity, when applied by a good writer, can be what keeps readers coming back to the series. We don't know what it is about this comic, but it really hits home. He makes things that are small and honest and is best known for his Pokémon fancomic Letters To An Absent Father.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of the promising genre is populated by bloated, tiresome reads that amount to nothing more than cheap fantasies. Aside from this strip, Maré has some other really cool illustrations and comics that you can check out on his site, as well as a store where you can buy physical copies of some of his work, such as Letters to an Absent Father.
