I was removing the rear driveshaft, and had disconnected it from the differential, but couldn't get it to pull free at the other end. The hub nut is usually a laminated nut, any "blue ring in that I guess would be pre applied threadlock, it not coming apart easily is sort of the point. Can't get driveshaft back in 2021. The U-joint from the Transmission? Yeah, I know that all too well, lol. If you do remove the shaft, make sure you stick a tray underneath the gear box to catch any leaking oil (not a lot).

The first time I attached the slide-hammer wasn't the best, and it came loose, causing me to smash the #$%& out of my hand. Given that the two rear mount holes are in the rear cross member it is hard to see how it is out of place. If in doubt, try a different yoke. Unrestored, stock, daily driver/work truck.
Been there, used a dremmel to clean things up but eventually mine, lookin kinda like yours, to be replaced. Actually, the splines look perfectly fine. One dealership we gave them permission to cut and put it in. It's an easy check to do. Turn it to the left and it should unscrew a little. It has leaked about 10 oz over the last couple of weeks. Front output shaft seal was unknowingly leaking and now the case is toast. Out of gear, the output shaft may be turning with the drive shaft. For Tricky stuff I usually run a video and talk to it with notes on reassembly. I know the U-joint is correct. You know as well as I do that it all turns into the blame game! But they had nylon plastic devices meltedin to the caps to prevent them coming apart. I watched a few videos and followed.. unbolting the 4 bolts near the front differential. This applies to factory new installed u joints. One was used as a stopper and the other is on the driveshaft? 2000 Satin Silver Passat 1. Can't get driveshaft back in chrome. You may need to remove the shaft (a bit of a faff is this is the passenger side) in order to push it back, but if you end up getting dirt in there it will require a new joint or more easy, a new shaft all together. Anybody know if a transmission shop will repair it if I've done something to the spline? Also, if it wasn't already apparent, you'll have to loosen the center nut on the driveshaft halves so you can push the back half forward, otherwise you'll be pushing against the transmission/guibo. 2007 Vespa GTS 250 Scooter.

The splines were just gummed up from dried-up grease, just needed cleaned off and everything was as good as new. Can't get the driveshaft back into hub. Did you check the six bolts that hold the front sub frame? My car has an automatic transmission. I love it whan parts go operly! They installed it bolted everything back down. My problem is I absolutely can not get it to slide forward to allow me to set it in the u-joint!
I got a extra yoke and beat it driveshaft goes in now but it's leaking trans fluid getting towed tommorow to the trans builder it's his problem it has a billet output shaft it may not work, as some are cnc milled and not broached like factory. The guy in the shop gave us one of those nuts with a blue ring inside and it's causing me some trouble just now. G-Lieutenant General. Driveshaft install - won't slide forward. You're probably out of balance and that's why your u-bolts & nuts are loosening. Fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith. I turn the shaft till they register and slide together easily. There's also three little reinforcement brackets connecting the bolts in pairs which slide off once the nuts are off. Location: Kansas, Wellsville. The splines are jamming? Images (Click to enlarge). Do driveshafts ever wear out. They used a sander or grinder or something to make the hole where the cap needed to come out round again. I really appreciate the help and suggestions.
Mine wouldn't come apart until I loosened that cap, then they parted ways easily. It won't travel past the splines at all. Easier to temp fit the wheel then sitting asride the wheel use both your legs/feet to give the wheela good shove to force the shaft back in. When removing the driveshaft, it slipped forward fine so that I could drop it from the rearend. Welcome to Tacoma World! Maybe a little heat also. To install I bolted the "center support" back in (noting the witness marks where it was previously located). I inspected the seal and it is soft with no tears. 19th July 2011, 12:13||# 21|. I could always force it but that something I don't like ever doing. 12/1952 M100- Departed. Their attitude was so poor (extremely rude and condescending) when I talked to them on the phone that I was hoping to just do this myself and limp by with it. I just jury-rigged the end of the puller onto the U-joint at the end of the driveshaft, and gave it a few good bangs with the hammer and it popped off. Surely not enough to be able to hold the shaft up there and pull the yoke out to it. It seems to be bottoming out about 3/4" from where it should be. The weird thing is, with the rear suspension all back together, the stub shaft is still not seated; the thin metal dust cover is about 1/2" to 5/8" away from the rubber seal.
