I was in Louisville this weekend and picked up a bottle of Butch's Bore Shine at Bass Pro Shop. Then lap, then shoot and keep filming until the rifle behaves.
Why should I re-do all of them when I no there is nothing left in them but squeaky clean metal. As for me, I try not to drop my arms in a mud puddle, anymore. I'm a big fan of Ed's Red. I have a rifle manufactured in 1978 that I purchased used from a gun shop. After the second application the patch had a little dark grey fouling, no sign of copper with a bore light inspection. The patch came out slightly grey, not much gray, about the color of a patch that I would have considered clean. Fact is I clean my high powered rifles regularly and have never have had to use any of the high powders copper cleaners. I've been cleaning rifles for a long time and it wasn't until recently that I finally got one clean. He said he finally could hit something wit it again and couldn't believe how clean the barrel was.
