Nose: Your nose is met with buttery pecan waffles loaded with dark salted chocolate chips and dripping with maple syrup that feels expensive next to darkly roasted espresso beans, singed vanilla husks, and dried sour cherries next to a medley of holiday spices. Nose: You're drawn in with this essence of vanilla that's kind of like rainwater that's been soaking vanilla husks overnight. Finish: The end arrives with more cinnamon and overall winter spice next to toffee with a whisper of nuttiness and a semi-watery end. Excellent and on time. Intro: A bird of a different feather compared to previous releases, 2020's Eagle Rare 17yr sports an extra year of aging and a bit of a proof bump (first seen in 2019) when we inspect the fact. The delivery took a bit of time but i received my product. The Vodka: This is Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley's pet project of sorts. It works nicely in a martini or cosmo too. Finish: The end holds onto that dry bark, as a hint of anise pops late with a slight vanilla cream tobacco touching off the medium-length fade. It's a hell of a balancing act. My favorite bourbons. By practice, and protected by law, no other distilled spirit adheres to standards as strict as those established for Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
