I would love to see Dylan and Esther in other show for sure, they had a great chemistry. I mean, I guess I'd rewatch a few of the first episodes? However, the love story between Dongfang Qingcang and Xiao Lan Hua was beautifully written. Some kisses felt like they are just there to please fans of these idol actors. You DON'T KNOW WHO LOVES THE OTHER MORE because of the sacrifices they make for each other. It was such torture to wait for the new episode. I think why it works so well it because their 'YinYang' acting and their character personalities shuxin in more subtle acting while Dylan in intense acting. Their power was unbalanced because the Moon tribe had not recovered from years of civil unrest. The fairy realm has a very heavy element of the Chinese culture, meanwhile, the demon/ moon realm has a hint of medieval elements in its location, outfits and more. She offered to protect him while no one has ever done that for him. Fleshing out the other stories might have helped with some pacing issues and added more layers to the romance focused show. I have a similar criticism in other dramas. Love Between Fairy and Devil is definitely a top-tier xianxia drama, there isn't any dull moment in it, and the drama will definitely make you hooked and render you breathless.
It's not like this drama doesn't fall into tropes but the first couple of episodes are hilarious because this weak orchid fairy swaps bodies with the all powerful Moon Clan leader and after the switch back, Dong Fang Qing Can realizes that every injury and emotion Xiao Lan Hua feels, he feels himself. I… really cannot think of any reason why the drama needs to insert this chapter except to showcase how pretty Dylan Wang and Esther Yu look when they wince in pain. I enjoyed "Love Between Fairy and Devil" but maybe not as much as most of the audience. Even though he did many despicable deeds, his only reason was love. And I was like... did I miss something? Conclusion [10/10] –. I don't think you will hear complaints about a slow start. I am really disappointed with the editing in the whole show the most. I found it hilarious how everyone could easily enter anywhere without much problem.
