I love a good Peyton Place-type neighborhood hiding a multitude of secrets, and Katherine Faulkner's Greenwich Park is an instant too-perfect classic. While working as an undercover reporter, Katherine won the Cudlipp Award for public interest journalism and was nominated for a string of others. It wasn't always exciting but there was plenty of mood setting and just enough history before things started dicey. None of the characters are particularly likeable and I found I didn't warm to any of them through the book. Discuss first impressions. She is speaking far too loudly. You can't wait to see what she does next. I am very aware now of the gaze of the other women in the room, looking from me to the girl and the wine, and back.
