I think the merit of this tobacco is all down to the perfect combination of all the different components singing as a choir with one voice. No wind at all made it perfect for my rendevous with Penzance. Just a fantastic smoke I can't get enough of. If you prefer milder blends or are just experimenting with Latakia blends, then you might like this. IMO, Penzance and Westminister are the two best English tobaccos on the market today. If all Esoterica did was make this, it would be enough. Penzance is a slice of heaven! Incense like undertone. The background is Virginias, but I could not differentiate any particular vaieties. One of the finest tobaccos I've ever smoked. To put it another way: I was hoping for flavors of sandalwood, dark tea and exotic fruits bathed in smoky sweetness, but what I got (mostly) was fresh peat and coffee grounds punched-up with fleeting bursts of sugar & spice.
Whatever, the best tin I've smoked to date was a 7 year old tin, and I've preferred fresh tins to the 13 year old tin I'm now smoking. I hate thee, let me count the, I can't count that high!
