In the world we live in now, with such instant access to crises all over the world as they unfold, it makes sense that some of us are more than a little uneasy over the idea of the future. Lauren is unwilling to turn her back on the huge wave she knows is coming; instead she teaches herself through books everything she can learn and she prepares for what she knows and fears is coming. But I know that won't matter if we don't survive these times. I'm an outsider saying this, but I hear the word from over the pond, and the UK isn't so different.
