GAH – the way in which this author built the storyline for these characters is simply jaw-dropping. I was the sister none of them asked for, but they'd find themselves needing. Or in other words, how I came to be trapped between two men in a remote castle in Scotland. I want more of everyone and the Kings plus their girls and I so want Keatons story, so so bad. This is about Eli (who's a character from Amo's other series Elite King Club), Kyrin (we met him in the first two Midnight Mayhem books), and Lilith (we were introduced to her in the last book in this series). It's been hours since I finished ISSS and I am still trying to process the emotions and events that took place throughout this book! I do think it isn't fair to have Eli carry the throuple on his back with two impulsive humans. There was evil within him that would never be accepted. There were also some moments in the book that were choppy, inconsistent, and ended so abruptly I had to go back a couple of times to make sure I didn't miss anything. Nothing that happens tonight counts in real life. It's not until his lips touch mine that I realize we're still standing in the fucking lobby and I need to be on my bike for the triple ring of death. Well... at least I'm not unhappy. The chemistry between all three characters is scorching hot. In silence she screams amo jones lang. Every part of story and every component of puzzle serves a purpose. To forget just how good my boss is in the bedroom before my heart starts to get other ideas. So here's what I will say: The Midnight Mayhem series has always been my absolute favorite of her writing. Passionate, heart-stopping, the night of my life kind of history.
So, don't expect spoilers in my review, or in my quotes. The melding of Patience, Midnight Mayhem, and The Kings is fluid and the dynamic between these three is out of this world.
