ERNESTINA "TINA" McGOWAN (PROCARIO) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 8, 2022, after a long hard-fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Diane is survived by two daughters, Darlene Archibald and Teresa Shankle; two sons, Darryl (Lori) and Tim (Shawnice) Shankle; a brother, Albert "Rocky" Barnes Jr; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was awarded the George Washington Medal of Honor by the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation, The Louisville Rotary Citizen of the Year in 1975, Louisville Hall of Achievement in 2011, and Honorary Constitution Parade Marshall in 2022. He retired in 2009 as the owner of Marks & Taylor Realtors after 50 years in business.
